Family Day – February 17: Family Day – Literacy Alberni will be closed. All classes and tutoring sessions for that Monday are cancelled.
Guest Speaker – February 26: A pharmacist from Shoppers Drug Mart will be on site on Wednesday, February 26, at10:00 to speak to our learners about how to read prescription labels, important questions to ask a doctor, how a pharmacist can serve as a resource, etc. Everyone is welcome to attend. If you’re working with a learner in a one-on-one situation, this may be especially informative for you, as you might find that your learner needs help with these activities.
Volunteer Brunch – February 26: Our next volunteer brunch will be held on Wednesday, February 26, at 11:00 am. All volunteers are invited to come share a snack, collaborate on tutoring ideas, and enjoy time with others.
“A Leap Across the World” – February 29: The Port Alberni Refugee Sponsorship Committee is hosting a fundraising dinner on February 29 from 5:00-8:30. Click here to view the event flyer. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Literacy Alberni.
